Frequently Asked Question

Find answers to common questions about rebates.
If you don't see what you need, feel free to ask us directly.

Didn't find your answer?

Yes! FortisBC’s dual-fuel rebates can often be combined with federal or provincial incentives, such as the Canada Greener Homes Grant. For example:

  • Pair your dual-fuel rebate with the Two-Upgrade Bonus (+300/350) by adding another eligible upgrade (e.g., insulation or windows).

  • Stack with federal grants covering up to $5,000 for heat pumps.
Note: Always confirm compatibility with your Green Home Solution advisor, as some programs may have restrictions.

FortisBC typically processes applications within 90 days of submission. Delays may occur if:

  • Documents are incomplete (e.g., missing invoice details or unsigned commissioning sheets).

  • Income verification is required for the income-qualified program.
Green Home Solution streamlines this process by pre-checking your paperwork and submitting error-free applications.

After April 30, 2025:

  • The **standard rebate drops to 5,000∗∗(from10,000).

  • The income-qualified program ends entirely.
However, if your installation occurs between May 1–31, 2025, you can still qualify for the higher rebate by:

  • Providing a quote or deposit proof dated before April 30.

  • Ensuring all installation documents are submitted by May 31.

We simplify the entire process:

  • Free Estimates: No-obligation assessments to align your system with rebate requirements.

  • Licensed Expertise: Our Technical Safety BC-certified contractors ensure installations meet FortisBC’s strict efficiency standards.

  • Rebate Support: We handle paperwork, document prep, and submission—guaranteeing compliance with deadlines.

  • 15+ Years of Trust: Serving Vancouver and Burnaby with transparent pricing and no hidden fees.

Yes! The income-qualified program requires a connected thermostat that automatically switches to gas heating at a preset temperature (e.g., 2°C).

  • Eligible Models: Check FortisBC’s approved thermostat list (e.g., Nest, Ecobee).

  • Installation Proof: Your contractor must include thermostat details in the commissioning sheet.
Green Home Solution installs qualifying thermostats and ensures they’re configured correctly for rebate compliance.

Rejections are rare if requirements are met, but if it happens:

  • Common Issues: Missing heat load calculations, outdated equipment models, or expired deadlines.

  • Next Steps: Green Home Solution reviews the rejection reason, helps correct errors, and resubmits at no extra cost.
We guarantee your system meets all efficiency and documentation standards before applying.
